The Danish organisation's work against cancer
In Denmark, there is an annual campaign to raise awareness and funds for the fight against breast cancer. The campaign was created by the Danish organisation, which goes to battle against all forms of cancer every day. In Denmark, the organisation works towards 3 common goals:
1. Reducing the number of people who get cancer
2. Increasing the number of people who survive cancer
3. For everyone to have a better quality of life during and after cancer
This campaign focuses on breast cancer. It has become a well-known Danish campaign, which receives great support from the people of Denmark, local businesses and sponsors every year. The campaign represents a unique community where the people of Denmark come together to support and raise money for the breast cancer cause. And of course, we at Zizzi want to contribute too.
Where does the money go?
When you buy one or more items from this collection, you also help support the fight against breast cancer. 10% of the profit goes to the projects and areas that the Danish organisation focuses on. You can read more below.
Research
Research saves lives. That's why the Danish organisation has several researchers working every day to ensure that breast cancer, among other things, is detected earlier, that treatments are made kinder and that more breast cancer survivors have a good life on the other side of diagnosis. They also support Danish cancer research at universities and hospitals across the country.
Patient support
Fortunately, more and more people are surviving a breast cancer diagnosis. But it is important that patients and their families are given support to have a good quality of life both during and after breast cancer. This is why the Danish organisation against cancer offers patient support to women with cancer and their families. This is free advice and support - for example at cancer advice centres across the country and via their hotline, which is offered every day by phone, chat or Skype.
Awareness
Awareness can prevent cancer. Awareness of factors such as diet, exercise and alcohol are some of the things that play an important role in preventing breast cancer. That's why the Danish organisation is working to explain how good advice can be translated into real habits that reduce the risk of cancer.
